Kent Brewer left with just one EU customer after Brexit
4th September 2022
The Old Dairy Brewery in Kent, which featured in a promotional video about the opportunities of Brexit has seen the value of its beer exports drop from £600,000 to £2,000 as it now only has one EU customer.
It is a good example of the substantial difficulties many smaller businesses are facing when trying to export their products to the EU now that the UK has left. The time and money spent completing the necessary paperwork is acting as a major non-tariff barrier to trade.
