Jet fuel from thin air

Wow! This is what the future should look like. A Dutch pilot project is taking carbon dioxide from the air and using it to help manufacture jet fuel.

However, whilst the technology seems to work - in practice, the cost of manufacturing the fuel is currently prohibitive, the amounts of fuel produced miniscule such that many think that plant-based biofuels are much more likely to be the way that the aviation sector starts to operate in a much more environmentally-friendly fashion.
