Here's a 12 question general economics knowledge quiz that you may like to use with new students starting your courses over the coming weeks. The questions are knowledge based but are designed to act as a way of starting discussions about topics that you will be covering.

If you want to go even further and dazzle your new students then try using the quiz in conjunction with our 'Magic Hat' activity below.  Using the questions provided, plus an ordinary pack of playing cards, the Magic Hat activity allows for a four-team activity where students are randomly selected to answer the questions (may be very handy if you haven't learnt student names yet!).
