For this week’s Fun Fact Friday, work out which of the following biographical statements about famous economists are true and which are false. For those that are false, outline what it is that makes them untrue.

2. Jacob Viner, of the ‘Chicago School’, was a staunch Keynesian supporter. True or False?
3. Alfred Marshall’s famous work ‘Principles of Economics’ was first published in 1900. True or False?
4. After getting disillusioned with the dominance of Keynesian economics in the 1950s, Friedrich Hayek became a psychologist. True or False?
5. Robert Solow was awarded the 1987 Nobel Prize in economics for his contribution to the academic debate on monetary policy. True or False?
