Food versus Land - the debate about Solar

The centrality of the fundamental economic problem - scarcity - is illustrated by this Reuters clip looking at increased competition for land in the American mid-West. Increasingly, high quality farm land is sought after, both for growing food and as a site for solar panels. So what's the best use of this land? It's a classic example of opportunity cost, and it also makes you wonder about what's the best use of this land.
