First 3D TV goes on sale

22nd April 2010

Technology lovers across the country will be delighted to hear that the first 3D TV has gone on sale today for a mere £1800 (plus £200 for a cable and special 3D glasses). But will there be much to watch? So far you could see the Avatar DVD but that’s about it until June when Sky launches its 3D channels. This is an interesting example of firms using innovation to compete. You could ask pupils to talk about the advantages and disadvantages of this strategy.
