Jonny Clark

1st October 2024

Do join us for our inaugural A-Level Economics teacher live stream tonight where the team will be discussing ‘Creating independent learners in economics’.

Click here to access the live stream, starting at 6.30pm.

Tonight’s contributors include:

Isobel Dawson - Isobel is an Economics graduate who trained as a Mathematics teacher before becoming and Economics teacher and then leading an Economics department. She is interested in all aspects of Economics pedagogy, but is particularly eager to find effective approaches for students who find studying the subject more challenging.

Glyn Manton - Glyn has 16 years of teaching experience, and is currently a Head of Year at Norwich School, after previously being a Head of Department in both state and independent sector. Glyn has been an examiner for 15 years, currently at a senior level for both Economics and Business for one of the major UK awarding bodies. If that wasn’t enough to keep him busy, he is also an ultra runner and triathlete in his spare time, and a dad of 2 university students.

Natalie McGuinness - Natalie has been a teacher of Business and Economics for 12 years. She currently teaches at the Sixth Form College Farnborough, a large college with over 4000 students, and is the Curriculum Manager for the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business. She is also completing my PhD at the moment, looking into whether exams are the right way to assess learners in A-Level Business.
