Development Economics e-book
28th November 2013
Working with one of my A2 Economics classes, we spent a few lessons rsearching useful case studies for the development economics section of Edexcel's course. Here is the results of our work.
Inspired by this blog post from Jon Tait (@TeamTait) about the importance of creating an audience for students' work, I set myself and one of my classes the aim of making an ebook of development economics case studies in just two weeks. The students rose to this challenge, and produced a set of well-written and clearly explained case studies which should prove useful to them when they're writing an essay and in need of that all-important case study to back up their arguments. And, with the aim of creating an audience, here you are everyone. I hope you and your students find some of these case studies useful. You can download the file as en epub document, viewable in any ebook software such as Apple's ibooks, or on any e-reader except a Kindle. Alternatively, there is also a PDF file.
If you'd like to know more about making your own ebook, and you have an Apple Mac with the Pages software, this guide offers a clear step-by-step guide.
