Contractor Incompetence

Geoff Riley

19th May 2008

A classic example of contractor failure .... here is the view from my study of a local firm of road contractors digging up a speed table for the 2nd time having failed on two separate occasions to get the specification right.

The sound of suspensions and bumpers hitting the road surface has become a routine feature of life on this stretch of road in recent weeks. You can see why a speed table is needed with a dangerous corner just fifty yards away. Fortunately the incompetence of the contractors will not cost the local council anything, the only main negative externality being a fresh round of disruption and noise. Fingers crossed that the contractors strike 3rd time lucky.
