This infographic from the people at Statista would make for a terrific stimulus to classroom discussion. A taxi journey is a fairly homogenous service from city to city across the world, but the average price for say a three mile trip varies greatly - why? The 2015 UBS prices and earnings survey is a great resource to use when discussing purchasing power parity and measures of the standard of living.
