Brexit - The Possible Impact on Cornish Tourism
12th December 2017
This Newsnight clip looks at the impact of Brexit on the Cornish economy, notably the hospitality sector.
With around 40% of the staff in the sector coming from the EU, it seems likely that the sector will start to struggle to get and retain staff post-Brexit, with food, agriculture and fisheries accounting for around one-third of the county's output.
The clip compares Britain's visa scheme with the 'regional visa scheme' operated in Canada, and wonders about what Brexit will mean for the labour market.
