Books for aspiring Economists

Diane Coyle’s blog has a very interesting selection of books for students about to start their university course in Economics - here it is. I would certainly include Skidelsky’s forthcoming book on Keynes and I also feel that Robert Frank’s recent books are great at getting across really core ideas - such as the cost benefit principle - so that students can see the relevance of economic ideas to their lives. I would also encourage students to dip into Tim Harford (there are three books from Tim gracing the bookshelves) and also Heilbroner’s “Worldly Philosophers”.
