Blogging Across the Oceans

Geoff Riley

10th March 2011

It was a delight this week to meet and host Ben Cahill from Auckland, New Zealand who came over to the UK to attend our Business / Economics ICT event and then spend a few days in the London area. We were able to share some teaching ideas and in particular chatting to Ben reinforced my aim to make stronger use of visual images in my teaching and to build them into exercises designed with an interactuve whiteboard in mind.

Ben is a regular blogger on the Tutor2u site (I suspect he blogs when most of us are asleep!) and one of his specialities is finding a telling image that acts as a catalyst for discussion and debate often as a lesson starter. You can check out many of his recent blogs by clicking this link.

The week wasn’t all hard work! Ben saw his beloved West Ham win three precious points against Stoke City and we took in the Brentford v Brighton game on Tuesday night.
