Bananas and Strawberries - Demand and Supply in Action

Two tidy demand and supply stories here - one on rising sales of Fair-trade bananas and the second on the early appearance of the UK strawberry crop.
Bananas
Fairtrade sales are up, as consumers appear to have fallen back in love with ethical consumption. However, might there also be a simple YED angle to all of this too? Read the article here
Strawberries
Another fruit-related D&S story: new methods of production mean that British grown strawberries are going on sale this week, two months before the season traditionally starts.
And, of course, increases in supply mean? I wouldn't be too sure: it's likely to be the case that costs of production are likely to be higher too. Read the article here
