AS and A2 Macro: Income Distribution by Religious Belief
23rd September 2012
There's lots of ways to analyse wealth distribution data and compare different countries, regions inside those countries, socio economic groups as well as across racial lines, but we're perhaps not as used to comparing data across religous beliefs.
The interesting info graphic below and found here does just that, mapping distribution of income by religious belief in the US. AS and A2 students might find it interesting to compare those religions which appear to have a higher proportion of higher income earners (43% of Hindus and 48% Jewish earn over $100,000) to those which have a higher proportion of lower income earners (47% of Christian - historically black churches - and 42% Jehovah's Witness find themselves in the lowest income category, less than $30,000).
