CMA warns against supermarket use of land banks

The Competition and Markets Authority was warned Sainsbury's And Asda about their future conduct in relation to the creation of land banks, and using land as a way of stopping rivals entering a market, thus restricting consumer choice.
Such tactics have long been a part of the armoury of the established supermarkets, not least in denying discounters access to individual markets, but it's interesting that they should have been singled out in this fashion.
