Amazon's Profits Triple

If you are teaching economies of scale and scope (and diseconomies of scale) then Amazon provides a rich vein of information and market analysis.

Heading into their crucial holiday season, revenues and profits in the 3rd quarter have shown solid growth. The business employs 1.5 million but a round of cost-cutting has seen 27,000 redundancies.
