Amazon initiates big job cuts - starting with Alexa

14th November 2022
Amazon braces itself for slower growth and a possible recession - many other tech companies have initiated thousands of job losses. Now Amazon has followed suit.
This is a big story worth following. 10,000 corporate lay-offs at the e-commerce and web services giant reflects the slowdown in the US and world economy and the need to rationalise the business.
Amazon plans to lay off approximately 3% of their workforce in corporate and technology jobs starting as soon as this week, in what would be the largest job cuts in the company’s history.
It has moved swiftly from a ‘hiring freeze” to putting the wheels in motion for labour-shedding. Most of the cuts will be in devices (Alexa), retail and HR.
Amazon has announced that it plans to cut about 10,000 jobs from its corporate workforce. The culling would be the largest in the ecommerce giant’s historyhttps://t.co/KajAuMI95J
