Adverts on the Colosseum

5th September 2010

I was lucky enough to go on holiday to Italy this summer and I couldn’t believe how many of the big attractions such as the Vatican had massive advertising hoardings plastered on the side. It turns out that the Italian government has no money left to repair their famous buildings and have invited private companies to put up the money in return for a golden advertising opportunity. This video explains how the Colosseum is soon to get the same treatment. Click here for an article to help a discussion

It could be used for a lesson on adverting or the budget. What else could the government try to get private companies to pay for?
