A view on the world oil crisis

Geoff Riley

18th June 2008

The programme for the Economics conference in London on Friday 27th has changed slightly, but conference delegates will now be treated to a truly global view on the world oil crisis from a speaker who is flying in for the occasion from Dubai

Unfortunately, Gerard Lyons, one of scheduled speakers for the UK and World economy presentations and open floor discussion, has had to withdraw because of a business commitment in India next week. But he has very kindly arranged for one of their top Middle-Eastern economists to fly in to join Karen Ward, Chief UK Economist of HSBC for a window on what is happening in the UK and global economy. Marios Maratheftis, is regional head of research in the Middle East, and previously Standard Chartered’s senior foreign exchange strategist.

The full programme is shown below. There are still some places available and teachers wanting to attend what promises to be a great professional development day at the superbly appointed conference centre at the British Library can find details here.
