A Crisis in Learning - The 2018 World Development Report

26th September 2017
The 2018 edition of the World Development Report is packed full of economic analysis, data and policy content. It is a great resource for teachers.
This year the report focuses on the economics of education as a key driver of improved development outcomes. Only 1 in 3 children complete secondary school in low and middle-income countries but the returns to smarter investment in education are potentially huge. The World Bank finds that each additional year of schooling raises earnings by 8-10 percent.
Some of the best charts from the report are included in this excellent blog
