You may be interested to know that the percentage of students achieving A* or A grades in Economics has fallen in 2016.

The percentage of students achieving A* or A in A Level economics fell from 30.6% (in 2015) to 30.1%. Girls saw a higher fall in the top grades compared to boys.

The percentage of students achieving an A grade in the new AS Level economics fell from 19.7% (in 2015) to 18.9. Interestingly the number of students taking the AS fell from 32,600 in 2015 to 26,200 in 2016. This may reflect the number of centres who chose not to take the AS exam rather than an actual fall in the number of students taking Economics as a subject.
