About the course

This course explores the structure of the Edexcel A-Level Politics specification, content planning, assessment, delivering tricky topics and concepts and much, much more.

The course is designed to build your confidence and knowledge, and support your delivery and assessment of Edexcel A-Level Politics.

What we'll cover

  • A session focusing on how best to structure your delivery of the course, considering different approaches, embedding contemporary political developments and topical examples, as well as the pros & cons of the different optional elements of the course (e.g. Global vs US; non-core political ideas, etc.)

  • A session focusing on some of the topic areas that students find most difficult, exploring ways to deliver these and ways to improve teachers' confidence in them.

  • A session focusing on the skills / assessment objectives required for the assessment of Edexcel A Level Politics. This will include how to teach the skills, the best approaches students can take for demonstrating them, and how to mark mocks and assessments with confidence.

  • A session in which we share some of our favourite activities, teaching tools and games as well as answer your questions about teaching and learning in Edexcel A Level Politics.
