Virtue signalling
Virtue signaling is the act of expressing moral or political views in order to signal to others that one is a good person or to demonstrate one's adherence to a particular ideology or set of values. The term is often used in a critical way to describe actions that are perceived as being more concerned with appearing virtuous or enlightened than with actually making a meaningful contribution to a cause or issue.
Virtue signaling can take many forms, including expressing support for a particular cause or group, participating in activist campaigns, or using social media to promote one's views. Some people argue that virtue signaling can be insincere or self-serving, while others see it as a legitimate way to promote social change and raise awareness about important issues.
