Intrapreneurship

Intrapreneurship is when employees are empowered to take on entrepreneurial projects within their own organization, similar to how an entrepreneur would start a new business. Here are a few examples:

  • Google's 20% rule, which allows employees to spend 20% of their time on personal projects related to Google's mission and values. This has resulted in successful products such as Gmail, Google Maps, and Google Drive.
  • Amazon's "2-pizza teams," which are small, agile teams that are empowered to move quickly and make decisions independently. This approach has led to the development of products like Amazon Prime and Kindle.
  • Procter & Gamble's Connect and Develop program, which encourages employees to collaborate with external partners to bring new ideas and innovations to the company. This has resulted in successful products like Swiffer and Febreze.
