Financial Methods of Motivation
There are many financial methods that businesses can use to motivate their employees, including:
- Bonuses: These are one-time payments given to employees for meeting certain goals or benchmarks.
- Profit-sharing: This is a programme in which employees share in the profits of the company, often based on a formula that takes into account individual performance and the overall performance of the company.
- Stock options: These give employees the opportunity to purchase company stock at a predetermined price, often at a discount.
- Commission: This is a percentage of the revenue generated from sales that an employee receives as compensation.
- Salary increases: These are raises in an employee's base pay, which can be used to reward good performance or to keep pace with inflation.
