Where does most of the UK’s tinsel come from?

You might think, like many of the other Christmas decorations and presents we're buying this Christmas, that the answer would be China. But read on and you might be surprised.

In fact, around two thirds of the UK's tinsel comes from the town of Cwmbran in south Wales. Festive Productions, based in the town, can produce up to 150,000m of tinsel every day. This BBC article explains the story in more detail, and offers an interesting festive case study of how manufacturing can thrive even with the UK's significantly higher labour costs. Merry Christmas everyone!
