What does the office environment tell you about a business’ culture?

This is a great resource I stumbled across as BUSS4 students get to grips with the research theme of culture this year.

This photo gallery in the Telegraph from last October shows some of the most unusual office environments in the UK. Apart from wondering how Tutor2U Towers measures up to this, it strikes me as a great way of getting students to start to consider the sort of culture a firm is trying to create and the influence the physical environment may have upon this. A great starter activity would be to give pairs of students one of the pictures each and ask them to come up with a list of words to describe the culture they believe exists based upon what they can see.
