UWP Mission to Loyka – Week 4 activity

Research Task – Context

This week’s activity is for students (and teachers if they like) to gather background information about the case study (such as peacekeeping). This will allow students to write better quality answers that are in the context of the UWP Mission to Loyka.

Create an A3 poster on any one of the following topics:

* What is peacekeeping?
* Who are peacekeepers?
* What is social infrastructure?
* Why is PR (public relations) important to peacekeeping organizations such as the UWP?
* What are the various roles of the troops in Loyka:
o Commander/General
o Colonel
o Regiment
o Batallion
o Company
o Platoon
o Squad

Have fun researching this and creating the posters!

Students could be asked to present their findings and to share their posters with each other.
