Uber v Didi Chuxing: Round Two - In Brazil
6th January 2017
Uber and Didi Chuxing - the world's two largest ride-hailing businesses - famously battled for market leadership in China. Didi Chuxing won that battle and now it has set its sights on another key emerging market - Brazil.
As the short video below explains, Didi Chuxing has become a strategic investor in a Brazilian-based ride-hailing startup named 99.
Uber is already in Brazil and wants market leadership there.
The irony of course is that Uber is effectively an investor in Didi Chuxing, having sold its operations in China in return for a stake in Didi.
The battle for the ride-sharing market in Brazil is about to get tasty!
