Tracking the popularity of global brands on social networks

The growing influence of social networks is providing us with new insights and data in the popularity of brands. I came across this fascinating real-time tracking site today which takes live feeds of the number of followers, fans or subscribers to the official Twitter, Facebook and YouTube sites of major brands. The site then calculates a league table of brand popularity. Interesting how Starbucks currently comes out top (at time of writing - 13 July 2010).
