The world’s most unusual location for a market?

I’m guessing health and safety regulations are more lenient in Thailand than in many Western countries, somehow I just can’t see local authorities giving my local fruit and vegetable sellers permission to locate in a similar area.

This short youtube clip has to be seen to be believed and I love the way in which the sellers at the Mae Klong market in Thailand get straight back into the business of selling as soon as the train goes past! I’m not sure I would be too keen on buying fruit and vegetables that have just passed under a train but the market looks like it is thriving and I’m assuming the rent for a stall is either very cheap or free. The entrepreneurial spirit lives on!
