The Gig Economy Explained

A fantastic short video here from the FT that explains what is meant by the Gig Economy.
The video also explores some of the key implications for human resource management and for individuals working without physical workplaces, colleagues or bosses.
The concept of self-employment is nothing new. However what distinguishes the emerging "gig" economy is a reliance on technology, such as complex algorithms that determine where and how work is carried out.
