Technological Innovation - Impossible Food?

Jim Riley

2nd November 2014

Can technology provide a viable, scaleable alternative to livestock farming? I must admit, after watching this report from Tim Bradshaw of the FT, that it looks like it could!

Tim visits Impossible Foods, a technology-led business based in Silicon Valley. Impossible Foods are researching ways in which technology can disrupt the traditional methods of producing meat and dairy products.

Tim is given access to some (not all) of the production processes being developed by Impossible Foods which effectively replicate the processes that livestock undertake!

It sounds like there is still some way to go to produce products that consumers will want, but they seem to be making pretty impressive progress.
