Watch out Uber and Alphabet (Google). The WSJ reports here that Singapore has became the first country in the world to launch a self-driving taxi service, beating ride-hailing giant Uber T to public road tests of a technology that could revolutionise the global transport industry.

The world's first public trial of a robo-taxi service has begun in a business district in Singapore.

The autonomous cars are operated by nuTonomy, a US start-up that has been conducting trials in Singapore since April.
