Fantastic news. Neil Mullarkey has agreed to join us at the Business Teacher National Conference 2010. It should be an amazing final session at our flagship CPD day. Not to be missed. Read on for more!

I’m delighted that Comedian Neil Mullarkey has agreed to lead a keynote session at the Business Teacher National Conference on Friday 18 June. Neil is one of the UK’s leading business coaches, specialising in the use of improvisation techniques to develop creativity and thinking skills. When he is not training Britain’s top management, he regularly appears on HIGNFY, QI and is a regular at the world-famous Comedy Store in London.

There is a great example of Neil in action recently here on the BBC website.

Catch Neil describing his techniques here on In Business on Radio 4

Neil will introduce a series of techniques that business teachers can use in the classroom to encourage students to think creatively, and most importantly to build arguments. They are all based on the skills of improvisation.

Some more information about Neil:

Neil Mullarkey studied Economics, Social and Political Sciences at Cambridge University. He was President of the comedy troupe the Cambridge Footlights (whose alumni include John Cleese, Hugh Laurie and Emma Thompson) and toured the UK and Australia. He’s performed in two double-acts, with Mike Myers and with Nick Hancock. In 1985 he co-founded the world-famous improvisers The Comedy Store Players with Mike Myers. He still improvises with the Players most Wednesdays and Sundays at the Comedy Store in London.
