Brand Extensions - Tango In The Shower!

Tango, the Britvic-owned fizzy drink, is to extend the brand into a range of shower gels that will be targeted at supermarkets.

Tango’s orange, apple, cherry and lemon flavours will be incorporated into 400ml shower gel packs, retailing at £1.49. They hope to appeal to consumers who are already loyal to the "irreverent" and "cheeky" Tango brand.

This would be a great topic to start a discussion around extending a brand and the idea of diversification to spread risk. You could get students to try and think of any other examples of brands trying to growing into unrelated markets or even give students products and get them to decide on how they may decide to extend the brand.
