Starter / Plenary Activity - The Business Studies Categories Game
6th December 2010
Here is a business studies game that might prove popular in an end-of-term lesson or two, or perhaps as a way of getting new business students thinking about their subject…
You are given the letter C. Can you name something beginning with C that is:
- A product priced less than £1
- A retailer
- A business cost
- A product with an inelastic demand
- Something that is manufactured
- Sold without packaging
- Connected with the media industry
- Sold from a vending machine
You might come up with ideas like:
- A product priced less than £1 (crisps)
- A retailer (Comet)
- A business cost (cleaning)
- A product with an inelastic demand (chocolate)
- Something that is manufactured (combine harvester)
- Sold without packaging (carrots)
- Connected with the media industry (Countdown)
- Sold from a vending machine (cond**... no, lets choose caramac)
But could you come up with an answer that no-one else in class has thought of. It has to be a unique answer to score points.
That’s the idea of The Business Studies Cateogory Game, based around a traditional parlour game.
We’ve come up with four category listings, a scorecard and some game instructions - ready to use straight out of the box. To get the download link, please complete the short form here:
