Sony - Eyes the Wearables Opportunity

Facing intensive competition in the smartphone market, Sony is turning its attention to a different consumer electronics market - wearables.

Sony was one of the first entrants into the “smarter” market, but will that mean much when it comes to succeeding once all the other technology companies launch a wider range of alternative products?

I’n not sure that I’d want to be seen wearing a pair of the current Sony SmartEye glasses. The video suggests that Sony initially see the glasses as being more useful by specialist business users. Could this concept take off in the much larger consumer sector?
