Situations Vacant - Apprentice Supervisor

Margaret Mountford’s announcement that she will not be part of the next series of The Apprentice is getting a far higher profile than Siralan’s choice of Yasmina rather than Katie on Sunday night. Some of Margaret’s memorable lines from this series: “Never before in the history of car washing have so few cars been washed by so many people in such a long time” “Alex, you stepped so far back from it you were practically out of the room” “One’s enough, thank you” on tasting one team’s chocolates

What would be the main features of a person specification and job description for her successor?

Suggestions from the Times, Telegraph and BBC include the ability to form instant, superficial judgements while being charming and elegant, eye-rolling, arching eyebrows, non-verbal communication through cocked heads, mischievous smiles, sometimes looking away in sheer horror. Having the stamina to watch so much back-stabbing and mismanagement while keeping your mouth shut, and remaining detached from the action. Never ingratiating yourself with the contestants, but being prepared to disagree with Alan Sugar. And most important, they should not be glamorous - according to the Daily Telegraph, “It’s quintessentially British to have the slightly older woman. We don’t do glamour in Britain, we do sensible, regal and sound. We have the candidates for eye-candy and it’s important that they are looking across the boardroom at the craggiest faces.”

Any candidates spring to mind?
