Sale of Assets | Co-Op Looks to Sell Garage Forecourt Assets to Reduce Debt and Gearing

A cracking example of how a business can use sale of assets to generate much needed cash.
The Guardian reports here how The Co-Operative Group is looking to sell over one hundred of its Co-op fuel forecourts, aiming to raise around £450million in cash.
The intention is to use this cash to repay loans as the business has high levels of debt (£920million) and gearing.
