Quality control and assurance - the Trabant Way

A huge hat tip to James Hazeldine for spotting this truly extraordinary 4-minute video on YouTube which illustrates quite beautifully the process of quality control…at the old Trabant car factory…

The clip provides vintage footage of the production of the Trabant, showing end of line adjustment and testing procedures. According to the video profile:

“The Trabant was an intentionally labour intensive car, with a total production run of little over three million units in 34 years and for the customer, an average waiting time of 15 years.”
