A thought-provoking video here from the New York Times explores the impact of the success in emerging economies of multinational food businesses like Nestle.
On the positive side, multinationals have helped solve many of the issues of food security and hunger. However, it has come at a price and a rising one at that.
There are now more obese than underweight adults in the world. Sales of ultra-processed foods have more than doubled over the last decade — even spreading into developing countries like Brazil - the subject of this video.
