Lady Gaga and PEST Analysis

Great news item for linking Society (or Culture) with Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Ball Concert, which has hit problems in Jakarta, Indonesia…

Authorities in Indonesia have refused Lady Gaga a concert permit for her Asia tour, following protests from Islamic groups and local community leaders. Whilst Gaga may have entertained her huge fan base across the globe, the flamboyant and highly outspoken artist is unwilling to adapt her (non-censored) style to fans across Asia, causing anger to many people in South Korea, Hong Kong and now Indonesia. She has also reportedly offended Christian groups in this part of the world.

The concert was scheduled for next week, but it looks like local Indonesian fans will have to “just dance” without their idol who would have been “on the edge of glory” in Jakarta.
