Inspiring leadership?

Jim Riley

20th September 2011

This year I am getting my business students to share and discuss business issues and concepts through blogging and adding comments to blogs. I set up a YouTube channel and uploaded screencasts/video tutorials showing them how easy it is to blog using my chosen platform, Posterous Spaces.

My blog post below is designed to show the students how easy it is and stimulate discussion on leadership, motivation, training and more.

This clip from the US version of The Office on YouTube shows how one leader attempts to influence the actions of his team:
Even though this makes me laugh it also seems like good advice to me. Surely we should all think about the possible consequences of our actions before we act? Mistakes are made by employees every day which cost their employers money.
Examples include printing documents more than once due to not checking the work first, failing to store important information correctly and ordering the wrong supplies/stock.
What examples can you think of?
