Effective marketing is all about selling benefits, not features of products. So the benefit being promoted by this innovative toilet seat design is higher employee productivity!
The Guardian reports on the work of product designers at StandardToiletwho have designed a tilting toilet seat that makes it less comfortable to sit down for prolonged periods.
Apparently, research indicated that employees are spending an average of 10 minutes a day on the toilet. They estimate that their new product will lead to a 25% reduction in time spent on the toilets, so employees can spend those extra two and a half minutes doing something more productive.
Will businesses be prepared to invest between £150-500 per toilet in order to potentially achieve these productiviy gains?
