Bad day for USA Ryder Cup clothing company

Jim Riley

1st October 2010

Quality couldn’t keep the Welsh rain out for USA Ryder Cup clothing company. It doesn’t rain but it pours!

Well there wasnt much play on day one of the 2010 Ryder Cup ue to the rain. The USAteam had a major problem when their waterproofs weren’t and even their bags suffered, whilst the Europeans manged to stay dry. A great up-to-the minute story which will provoke many a discussion in many business studies lessons. A great example of the damage a company can face when your product fails at a high profile event. A nice little earner for the on course merchandiser who pocketedthe £4000 from the US team plus all the follow on sales they would have taken today. One businesses bad luck is anothers good fortune.
