How to get ahead in marketing - use baldies

10th September 2008

Many thanks to Penny Brooks for the “heads-up” on this great asset-led marketing story from the BBC…

The BBC report that Air New Zealand want to hire 50 bald men to act as marketing billboards. At last a productive use has been found for that bald patch (or in my case, slightly thinning area) on the top of a middle-aged man’s head.

As we speak, the airline is combing the country for suitable patches which could be worth as much as £400 per head.

A good use of asset-led marketing, or is this last, desperate act of a “receding airline”?
