Here’s a useful short video about a start-up business

I just spotted this excellent two-minute video clip that appeared on the BBC website a few days ago. It would make an excellent stimulus piece for business students looking for a simple example of a business start-up…

The video clip is embedded on this BBC web page - it should launch on screen once you visit this link.

Even though the clip is short, it contains quite a lot of useful business studies material:

- Entrepreneur wanted to start up in business to get away from a declining market (mortgage brokering)
- Product positioning: premium quality + high price (link to market mapping v supermarkets)
- Handmade v production line output = perceived quality
- Location for the business in her kitchen
- Primary market research - taste testing
