I liked this feature in today’s Telegraph about a business start-up where “growth” is definitely an objective…

Despite intense local competition, William Denne has fulfilled an ambition to start a nursery business. Tasteful Plants is focused on a clear niche and is aiming to prosper without spending anything on advertising!

There is a good line in the article on the difficult decision about employing new people in a start-up. For now, the founders are prepared to work 14-hour days until the business is better established - a typical option for a start-up.
